Filtration & Engine Protection

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy testing and mileage claims are not as cut and dry as they may seem. The EPA’s website states, “EPA’s fuel economy estimates are designed to allow consumers to comparison shop. K&N Air Filter Oil

A K&N reusable filter is designed with four to six layers of cotton gauze media sandwiched between two aluminum wire screens. The cotton media is then treated with a specially formulated grade of filter oil that causes tackiness throughout the cotton’s microscopic strands. The cotton in a K&N replacement air filter allows high volumes of airflow, and when combined with the tackiness of the filter oil creates an efficient filtering media that ensures engine protection.
